The journal overview is the heart of Dreavie – this is where all your moments come together. Let's explore how to find your way around and get the most out of the overview.
Understanding the Basic Structure
The Main Elements
The Header
At the top you see:
- The name of the current collection (e.g. "All Entries" or "Private")
- The menu icon (three lines) for collection selection
- The search (magnifying glass icon)
The Main Collection
This is where your journals live, intelligently organized:
- Grouped by time periods (Today, Yesterday, This Week, etc.)
- Newest entries at the top
- Older entries load automatically when scrolling
The Floating Plus Button
Bottom right floats your gateway to new thoughts – always just a tap away.
Time-Based Organization
The Sections
Dreavie groups your journals automatically:
"Today"
Everything you wrote today. Perfect for quick daily review.
"Yesterday"
Yesterday's thoughts – close enough to remember, far enough for perspective.
"This Week"
The last 7 days at a glance. Here you can spot weekly patterns.
"Last Month"
Older entries, thematically grouped. Time brings clarity.
"Memory Lane"
A special feature: Dreavie shows you entries from today one year ago, two years ago... A time travel through your thoughts.
Understanding Journal Cards
What You See
Each journal entry is displayed as a card with:
The Date
Format: "Monday, January 15, 2024" – human readable, not just numbers.
The Title (if present)
Bold print so you quickly recognize what it was about.
The Text Preview
The first lines of your entry. Enough to spark the memory.
For longer entries, you can expand the preview without opening the entry.
The Collection Color
The colored strip on the left shows immediately which collection the entry belongs to.
Special Entry Types
Weekly Summaries
Recognizable by:
- Special styling (often highlighted)
- "Weekly Review" in the title
- AI-generated content based on your week

Advanced Overview Features
The Streak Banner (Mobile)
At the top of the overview you see your streak:
- How many days in a row you've written
- Motivation to keep going
- Disappears subtly when scrolling
Infinite Scrolling
How it works: Just keep scrolling – older entries load automatically.
Performance: Dreavie loads intelligently. Only visible entries are rendered, keeping everything smooth.
Collection Filtering
The active filter: At the top you always see which collection you're viewing.
